Dog & Cat Wellness Exams
When it comes to wellness for both humans and animals, regular care is essential to maintaining good health. To ensure they receive the level of care they deserve and to give them their best chance at living long, healthy and happy lives, we recommend our feline and canine patients have at least one wellness exam per year.
Why Are Pet Wellness Exams So Important?
The main purposes of pet wellness exams are prevention and early detection. As with humans, effective treatment of diseases and other conditions often depends on diagnosing and treating the condition before it has had a chance to progress and develop into a serious health problem. An annual wellness exam, provides Dr. Cooper a chance to perform a thorough physical evaluation of your pet – from whiskers to tail – to ensure the early detection of any developing health concerns.
What Happens During a Pet Wellness Exam?
We tailor our pet wellness exams to your individual pet’s age, lifestyle, existing conditions and even your pet’s breed. An annual wellness exam is a complete health screening. During this examination, Dr. Cooper looks for signs of tooth decay, infection, musculoskeletal issues, allergies, parasites and other potential health concerns. We maintain a record of each of your pet’s exams to use as a health marker for reference at future appointments. Any drastic changes in physical appearance, behavior, weight or other symptoms can signify a health problem.
